The Ask

Crown Royal sought to highlight the arts and culture in urban cities, specifically celebrating people of color for Black History Month. They wanted a compelling, entertaining 30-second story that resonated with audiences. Challenge accepted.

The Challenge

The biggest hurdle was maximizing a tight budget while accomplishing everything within a single-day shoot. Efficiency was key.

The Solution

Our solution was strategic location use—leveraging strong exterior settings to minimize the need for large lighting setups and complex camera moves. While shooting these natural location scenes, our crew simultaneously prepared intricate lighting and camera rehearsals for interior shots. A pre-dress day by the art team ensured a smooth workflow, preventing departmental overlap and keeping the production on track.
