The Ask

Dave and Buster’s needed us to create a national broadcast spot featuring the Rampage video game as a cross promotion with the feature film. We were to integrate the Rampage video game in a way that felt authentic and seamless. They needed the game to appear fully developed and functional within the commercial. 

“But there is nothing there!”
The Challenge

The Catch? The game didn’t exist at the time. With just five days to execute, we needed a creative solution that would seamlessly bring the game to life within the commercial. 

The Solution

To make this happen, we built the game assets in 3D using Maya and then used After Effects for compositing and rotoscoping to match the live-action footage. This allowed us to create the illusion of the game in action, despite it still being in development. After some quick editing, we had what we were searching for.
