The Ask

OnStar needed a captivating and heartwarming Santa Tracker campaign that would engage audiences with a sense of wonder and holiday magic. The narrative was driven by a child lead, whose curiosity and excitement brought the story to life in almost every shot. The campaign aimed to capture the joy and anticipation of tracking Santa’s journey in real-time, seamlessly integrating OnStar’s technology as a key element of the experience.

The Challenge

The challenge was navigating strict state laws limiting the number of hours a child actor could work, all while keeping the production on schedule. With a child lead in almost every shot, this became a potentially huge bottle neck on this project.

The Solution

The primary solution was strategic location selection. By choosing locations that didn’t require company moves each day, we maximized our time on set. Additionally, we staggered set schedules to begin or wrap with scenes the child wasn’t in, giving us crucial extra minutes to complete the shoot efficiently.
